Centari illustration (Warning- sketchy man parts)
So I had the excellent horse-drawing Kat to collaborate with on this illustration for Steve's story! It's still fairly loose but I quite like the feel of it! I think the character on the centaur character's back has some dodgy anatomy... but anyway. Yes. Crits welcome!

I keep on meaning to comment on this, then forgetting. Surely his sketchy man parts should be between the horses back legs? Or does he have two? 0_o
Seriously, though, the most noticeable anatomical tweak you need to make is the size of the centaurs left hand and forearm.
If you imagine that across his chest is in fact a perspective plane moving away from us, it should be a whole lot smaller. The dude on his back could use some fiddling, but that's much less important in my opinion.
Finally, I think you should put some more muscle on the horse part of the centaur, especially in the back legs- making him look like he's got a bit more power in them I think will help the illustration. :)

Thanks so much John! The hand size looked off but it hadn't occured to me why. I'll tweak the anatomy and ink it up. It's been abandoned for a little while but i'd like to finish it.
I got my good friend Kat (another one) to draw the horse part as that's what she's good at. I'll try bulking it up a little to make it look meatier but horse anatomy definately isn't my strong point. The character design is by Steve so bring up the whole double-man-part-ness with him. :p
When I see a pose like this I can't help but think how it would be more dynamic it would be if the the centaur was springing at us. It's kind of similar to the situation with the pedipulator in that a side shot shows off the design but picking a more interesting angle makes it more interesting as an illustration.
Argh I need to read this thing!
Ooh I could do that in bed! I've been looking for more bed-reading material. *hugs iphone*
